Pengembangan E-Modul Keterkaitan Antara Budaya dan Emosi serta Dampaknya Terhadap Pemahaman Terkait Lintas Budaya

Abstract

Globalisasi telah meningkatkan interaksi lintas budaya yang menuntut pemahaman mendalam tentang keterkaitan antara budaya dan emosi. Kesalahpahaman dalam komunikasi lintas budaya sering terjadi karena perbedaan ekspresi dan interpretasi emosi di berbagai kultur. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan e-modul tentang keterkaitan budaya dan emosi serta menganalisis dampaknya terhadap pemahaman lintas budaya mahasiswa. Penelitian menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE. Subjek penelitian adalah 80 mahasiswa program studi Psikologi yang dipilih melalui purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui validasi expert judgement dan pretest-posttest, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan Paired T Test. Validasi expert judgement menunjukkan e-modul layak digunakan dengan skor rata-rata 4,5 dari skala 5. Uji efektivitas menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pemahaman lintas budaya dari skor mean pretest 4,12 menjadi posttest 9,25 (p<0,05). Efektivitas e-modul didukung oleh tiga faktor utama: aksesibilitas yang memungkinkan pembelajaran mandiri, interaktivitas melalui quiz dan simulasi interaksi lintas budaya, serta simulasi gamifikasi studi lintas budaya. E-modul keterkaitan budaya dan emosi terbukti efektif meningkatkan pemahaman lintas budaya mahasiswa secara signifikan.

Abstract

Globalization has increased cross-cultural interactions, requiring a deeper understanding of the relationship between culture and emotion. Misunderstandings in cross-cultural communication often occur due to differences in the expression and interpretation of emotions across cultures. This study aims to develop an e-module on the relationship between culture and emotion and analyze its impact on students' cross-cultural understanding. The study used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model. The subjects were 80 Psychology students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through expert judgment validation and pretest-posttest, then analyzed using a Paired T-Test. Expert judgment validation showed the e-module was feasible to use with an average score of 4.5 on a scale of 5. The effectiveness test showed a significant increase in cross-cultural understanding from a mean pretest score of 4.12 to a posttest score of 9.25 (p<0.05). The effectiveness of the e-module is supported by three main factors: accessibility that allows for independent learning, interactivity through quizzes and cross-cultural interaction simulations, and gamified simulations of cross-cultural studies. The e-module on the relationship between culture and emotion was proven to be effective in significantly improving students' cross-cultural understanding.
